This black bean and quinoa burger is a delicious and healthy alternative to a traditional beef burger.

Cooking Steps

  • 1
In a small saucepan, bring the quinoa and water to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer, covered, for about 15 minutes, or until the quinoa is fluffy and the water is absorbed.
  • 2
In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or a potato masher, leaving some chunks for texture.
  • 3
Add the cooked quinoa, oats, onion, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, pepper, and cilantro, and mix well.
  • 4
Shape the mixture into four equal-sized patties, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  • 5
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the oil and cook the patties for about 4 minutes per side, or until golden and crisp.
  • 6
Serve the burgers on the toasted buns, with your choice of toppings. Enjoy!
